Surmeli Efes

Ephesus has existed for thousands of years along the shore of the deep-blue Aegean, under the hot sun on bountiful soil set within the shadows of olive trees. Not unlike a dance where blues and greens mingle with one another with extraordinary grace. Participate in this dance, too, and experience the vacation of your dreams.

The Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the world… the magnificent ancient city of Ephesus … the holy Home of the Mother Mary, where she died… the land that is filled with the hearts and spirits of legendary gods and saints open itself to smiling people.

The first settlement in Ephesus goes back to two thousand years B.C. Ephesus had the largest library in Antiquity after the one in Alexandria. Its amphitheater is still being used today for national and international concerts. Walking amidst the temples, ancient fountains and neighborhoods, you can get a sense of a man-made civilization.

During its heyday, Ephesus was a port city with columns extending all the way down to the sea. Although it doesn’t reach anywhere near the sea today, going down the column-lined promenade, you can experience a sense of pleasure knowing that you are walking where the ancients once walked.

The fertile land located in one of the oldest settlement areas of humanity gave rise to many a civilization... Each of these civilizations left its mark … contributing not only to Anatolian culture but the history of man as well... To hear the voice of Heraclites, who once walked the streets of Ephesus and said “panta rei” (everything flows), it is enough to get acquainted with the hospitality of the Efes Sürmeli.

Close (55 km) to the Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport and four km from the Ephesus Ruins, the Efes Sürmeli is located in the Bay of Pamucak right next to the sea. Each of its rooms is set within an incomparable turquoise atmosphere and has a view of the sea and a balcony. It has a total of 436 rooms, including standard and aparts with accompanying gardens. The Efes Sürmeli awaits your visit with its sports facilities, domestic and universal foods, and specially designed congress-conference-meeting halls that meet international standards.
